satisfy: implies the full appeasement not only of desires and longings BUT of needs and requirements: ~ her fondest desire.


content: implies the appeasement to the point where one is not disquieted or disturbed even though every wish is NOT gratified: refused to ~ herself with the answer.


satisfy: 完全满足，既满足需求又满足愿望，content: 满足到不再困扰不安，虽然可能有些愿望并没实现。


记忆方法： 1) 满足的意思是做符合别人愿望的事mean to appease one's desires or longings.

            appease: 常说的"绥靖"，就是做别人要求做的满足别人。两个词都用appease解释，程度不同。

           2）满足的意思是安抚愿望渴望mean to appease one's desires or longings.

(2) 满足

satisfy: implies an adequacy to an end or need, often suggests a standard of comparison: ~ the requirements for her degree.


fulfill: often interchangeable with satisfy, implies more richness and abundance in measuring up to a need less measurable and more IMmeasurable: a son that ~ his father's fondest hopes.


meet: implies an exactness of agreement between a requirement and what is submitted to fill it: designed to ~ the demands of today's students.


answer: usually implies simple satisfaction of a need or demand, often in temporary and expedient manner: a solution that ~ their immediate need.


satisfy满足: 对目的、需求而言足够, 常指满足标准，fulfill实现: 更充分富足，常用于难以测量的东西(如例句的hope)，meet: 强调和需求恰好一致， answer: 常表示临时、权宜的简单满足。


记忆方法: 1）首字母联想SF MA，SF想象成师傅：马师傅技术好，满足招聘标准。


         2）满足的意思是达到标准mean to measure up to criteria or requirements.
